Celtic Ogham info on Giuis Essence For those of you studying the Celtic Tree Wheel of the year and/or taking classes with us working on those energies and ancestral workings, We have deliberately chosen Roisin Carroll's Ogham interpretation of Giuis (Pine) instead of Ailim or Ifim. Carroll's Giuis is the most accurate and appropriate vibration for what we created. Ailim really reflects more of the Elm and Spruce energies...which have a very different type of tree needle and correspondences. Ifim was our next best choice and the Ogham I actually preferred as it actually resembles pine needles. However, there are many different interpretations, where Ifim is represented as Gooseberry which is what I usually read it as in divination. However, Ifin is also interchanged with Uillenand or honeysuckle....after much deliberation and study, I felt this was the Ogham most in resonance without confusion. Though it would have been infinitely less time consuming to lump Eastern Long Needle Pine in with Ailim or the Spruces, I decided it wasn't honoring or preserving the integrity of the healing messages and energies by trying to force this tree into the Fir category of trees that have flat sided needles and a radically different needle structure and grouping.
